This class is a perfect introduction to ganache and covering cakes in a contemporary style.
You will learn how to split, level, fill and cover your cake professionally, as well as decorate it to a high standard in a colour of your choice. This class will also cover transferable skills including gold paint, edible sequins and striped fondant. All materials and ingredients are provided and you will leave with a beautiful 6” chocolate cake, decorated by you to take home to enjoy with your family! This class will change the way you decorate cakes – forever!
Learn to split, level, fill and crumb coat your cake professionally
How to cover your cake with sugarpaste to a high standard and finish
How to make and work with ganache including how to achieve sharp edges
How to make edible gold, edible sequins and striped fondant
How to cover your board in a contemporary style
Leave with the confidence to create impressive celebration cakes at home!
Level: Beginner to Intermediate. Ideally you will have some prior experience of covering cakes.
Length of class: Approximately 6 hours with a short break for lunch.
What do you need to bring:
Just a bite to eat for lunch and a notebook.
Aprons are provided to use during the day and light refreshments will be served during the class.
